Also known as hay fever or allergic rhinitis

Allergies happen when your body reacts strongly to things like pollen, dust or pet hair. This can cause sneezing, a runny or stuffy nose, itchy or watery eyes and an itchy throat. Symptoms can be mild or quite bothersome and may come and go with the seasons.

You do not always need to see a doctor first. In many cases our pharmacists may be able to prescribe treatments such as nose sprays, tablets or eye drops to help control your allergy symptoms.

Please note that an appointment with the pharmacist does not guarantee a prescription. The pharmacist will assess your symptoms and decide if treatment at the pharmacy is right for you, or if you should be referred to a doctor.
